Kelly Wallace, violin instructor

KW Violin Studio

What you need to get started:

To get started you will need a violin, bow, rosin and Suzuki Book with CD.

Violin and Bow:

Very young students do not need to get a violin at first as the violin and bow will not be used for the first few lessons, a "learning" bow will be used instead to demonstrate the correct bow hold and bow exercises. You may purchase the learning bow online (link below) or you may use a kindergarten size pencil for practice at home. Here are some links to local music shops for finding an instrument and bow to rent or purchase:

Classic Violins (Mundelein) - http://www.classicviolins.com/t-rentals.aspx  847-970-3797
A Major Music (Gurnee) - http://a-majormusic.com/rentals.html  847-623-8565
You may also search online for other sources for instruments. I would be happy to assist you with finding an instrument.
